Ashkan Dejagah

PLDC – Iranian international midfielder Ashkan Dejagah says he is satisfied with his knee’s recovery in Tehran, capital of Iran.

Dejagah’s Nottingham Forest career took a serious blow before it has even properly begun – with the Iranian international having suffered a knee problem in training in February.

The 31-year-old is in Tehran now for medical treatment.

“Mr. Queiroz (Carlos) and Karanka (Aitor) have talked together about my recovery process. Auspiciously, Karanka knows how important is the 2018 World Cup for me,” Dejagah said in an interview with Iran Football Federation’s website.

“Nottingham Forest and Team Melli are backing me to be fit for the World Cup. I could have stayed in England to continue my recovery but I think the Team Melli’s medical devote more time to me,” he added
“My club knows everything is going well in Iran. The Iran national team staff is doing its best to prepare me for the World Cup,” Dejagah stated.

Dejagah made only one appearance for Forest following his arrival as a free agent in January, ironically against his former club Fulham, where he played during their time in the Premier League.
