Mayeli Kohan

PLDC - Tehran, Former Team Melli coach Mohammad Mayeli Kohan has been banned from being broadcasted on Iranian state television and radio, because he said that he is a fan of an Iranian singer based in the United States.

Iranian broadcasting authorities have banned Mayeli Kohan, because on Monday's Navad episode, he expressed, "I am a fan of Dariush". This pre-revolution singer is not licensed to distribute his music in Iran. Dariush is an expat currently residing in USA, and he is a part of a group broadly labeled as 'Los Angeles singers'. Dariush's his music is not allowed to be sold in Iran, and Mayeli Kohan's mention of his name is frowned upon.

This is the second time that Mayeli Kohan has been banned from Iranian television and radio. His first ban came after he had a feud with Ezzatollah Zarghami, who is the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting company.

Mayeli Kohan also currently has a beef with Ali Daei. These two coaches have exchanged words in interviews and questioned one another's character and motives.

Although it should be said that Daei is no stranger to such beefs. It seems that every week Daei is in the news because of a new beef, with a new someone.
