AFC Champions League

PLDC - Tehran, The Iranian Football Federation's Secretary General, Mohammad Nabi, has suggested to the Asian Football Confederation's Secretary General, Alex Soosay, that the round of 16 matches for the 2014 AFC Champions League be held after the World Cup.

In his letter to Soosay, Nabi wrote, "Since the Round of 16 matches for the 2014 Champions League are scheduled for May 13th and 14th, and the World Cup starts on June 12th, we suggest that AFC postpones these Asian matches so that our continent's national teams have more time to prepare, conduct friendly matches and training camps with their full squads, and reach ideal conditions for the World Cup in Brazil."
