IRNA - Zob Ahan handed the Hamedan-based
Persepolis a humiliating defeat here on Sunday, advancing to the last eight
of League Cup.
In the second-leg match in Fouladshahr, Isfahan, Zob routed the reds 7-0.
Hamid Shafiei grabbed his hat-trick as he fired home in the 39th, 53rd, and
85th minutes.
Hamid Aziz-Zadeh netted in the 64th minute, Reza Sahebi scored on 76 minutes
and Mostafa Salehi-Nejad struck in the 80th and 86th minutes.
Assisted by his two linesmen, Yadollah Saffar and Teimour Qaderi,
Sa'adatollah Baghban refereed the derby.
The first-leg clash ended in a goalless draw in Hamedan.
*Pas knocks Foulad
out of League Cup
Visitor Pas eliminated the Khuzestani side, Foulad, on Sunday advancing to
the last eight of the League Cup.
Playing on the pitch of Ahvaz Takhti Stadium, the two sides fought to a 1-1
tie.
National midfielder of Pas, Javad Nekounam scored in the 80th minute and the
late goal of Behnam Seraj in the 89th minute equalized the second-leg match.
Referee Farajollah Yasrebi and his two linesmen Nasser Bakhtiari and Esmaeil
Safiri judged the match.
Defeating Foulad 3-1 in the first leg in Tehran, Pas won 4-2 on aggregate.
*Naft booted out of
League Cup
San'at Naft was knocked out of the League Cup on Sunday as it lost to Fajr
on aggregate.
In their second clash, Abadan's Naft and the visitor Shirazi side, Fajr-e
Sepassi, struggled to a 1-1 draw in Takhti Stadium.
Mehdi Rajabzadeh put Fajr ahead in the first minute that was responded by
Naft's Alireza Daghaeleh from the penalty spot eight minutes later.
Due to a ban on Naft, no spectator watched the match. Fajr had won the
first-leg match 3-2 in Shiraz, cruising to the league quarterfinals.
Mansour Mohammadi and his assistants Fereydoun Jabbari and Morteza Karimi
judged the match.
