IRNA - Persepolis defeated SAIPA in a postponed match of Iran Pro League (IPL) here on Friday. 
Playing a 16th week derby in Takhti Stadium, the red-clad Persepolis overcame SAIPA 2-1 closing in on the league leader Sepahan of Isfahan. 
Ali Ansarian put Persepolis ahead in the second minute when he converted a penalty and the left winger Mohammad Barzegar made it 2-1 after 13 minutes into the second half. 
Mohammad Mo'meni scored SAIPA consolation goal from the penalty spot on 83 minutes. 
Assisted by his linesmen Esmaeil Safiri and Alireza Rajablou, referee Ali Khosravi judged the match. 
Winning 31 points, Persepolis is now at the second place of IPL table and Sepahan is the leader with 35 points.
