Mehdi Mahdavikia scored
with a header to make it 3:0
Hamburg - The HSV won against Nuremberg
by 4:0 on Saturday. It was the highest victory this season. In front of
40.000 visitors in the AOL arena, the home team dominated the match right
from the start. Nuremberg displayed a mediocre performance. And for the
HSV strikers there was ample opportunity to score.
HSV dominating
After two minutes Milan Fukal headed the ball narrowly above the Nuremberg
goal. After four minutes, Bernardo Romeo shot from outside the penalty
area, but Darius Kampa, the Nuremberg goalkeeper, saved the ball. Bernd
Hollerbach shot from about the same distance (12.), but missed narrowly.
After twenty-two minutes, Sergej Barbarez tried to overcome Kampa but shot
wide (19.). Milan Fukal had his second opportunity in the twenty-second
minute, but his header missed the goal again.
After more than thirty minutes Nuremberg created his first chance. But
Lars Mueller missed with a free kick. And goalkeeper Martin Pieckenhagen
deflected a shot from Passlack after thirty-five minutes.
Fukal scored again
After missing two times Milan Fukal put Hamburg in the lead after
thirty-six minutes. After a free kick by Mahdavikia the Czech
international headed the ball into the net. From now on, the HSV
controlled the match even more. Christian Ledesma passed to Romeo, who
scored from ten meters (41.) to make it 2:0.
After the break the match continued like it ended in the first half. The
HSV did attack, while Nuremberg was acting too passively. So, it was only
a matter of time until the HSV was to score again.
Mehdi with a header
And it was Mehdi Mahdavikia who scored to make it 3:0. Hollerbach put the
ball with a cross into the penalty area, where none of the Nuremberg
defenders attacked the Iranian midfielder. So it was an easy task for
Mehdi to score (55.).
Hamburg now switched back one gear. Marek Nikl from Nuremberg tried to
score from twenty meters, but Pieckenhagen could not be overcome. Jacek
Krzynowek also tried, but his shot from twenty-five meters missed wide
(69.).
Instead, Naohiro Takahara shot the fourth goal for Hamburg - again with a
header (77.). And it was Mahdavikia, again, who laid the ball on.
Taka missed his second goal shortly before the end, when again Mehdi
Mahdavikia put the ball through. But Kampa could save.
Hamburg defended the fifth position in the league and is still on course
to play internationally, next season. Nuremberg on the other hand will
have to play much better to avoid relegation.
