Bochum ended their season in style with a four-goal blast against mid-table rivals 1860 Munich.

Paul Freier silenced the majority of the 25,000 crowd at the Olimpiastadion by putting Bochum ahead inside the first minute.

Martin Stranzl netted in the 37th minute to send the teams in level at the break, but Bochum hit back with two goals in eight second half minutes to establish a 3-1 lead.

Substitute Vahid Hashemian, a half-time replacement for Delron Buckley, netted Bochum's second in the 64th minute before Thomas Christiansen put the visitors further ahead soon after.

The 1860 striker Martin Max had been on the pitch just 13 minutes when he became the second substitute to net, firing home in the 78th minute.

However, 1860 were unable to grab a third goal back and Bochum made sure of the win in the closing minutes through Thomas Reis.
