Gulf News - The Al Wasl senior football team left for Germany yesterday to hold a 17-day training camp in Nuremburg under their Brazilian coach Arthur Bernardes.

The team will return to Dubai on August 18 and leave for Iran to participate in an international friendly tournament there.

Four clubs – Pirouzi and Sepahan of Iran, Al Riyadh of Saudi Arabia and Al Wasl – are taking part in the competition to be held in Tehran.

The training camp in Germany and the friendly tournament will act as their preparations for the new season.

They start their campaign with the preliminary round of the President's Cup, to commence on September 17. Al Wasl are in Group 'C' and their first match will be against Al Ittihad.

Al Wasl are looking towards achieving better results in the coming season after a none too impressive performance last season.
