AFC - Iranian international Moharram Navidkia could gain some consolation for missing this summer's Asian Cup with a serious knee injury by winning a dream move to German Bundesliga side VfL Bochum.

Bochum, who will play in next season's UEFA Cup after surprisingly finishing fifth in the Bundesliga, have offered the 21-year-old offensive midfielder from Esfahan club Sepahan, a three-year contract until 2007, which starts on June 1, if the player passes a medical in Germany.

The Germans have been informed about Navidkia's injury - which he suffered during the Olympic side’s Asian Football Qualifiers 2004 Group A clash against Korea Republic in May - but decided to follow their initial interest in the player and agreed to take an extensive look at his knee before making a final decision whether or not they will bring one of Asia’s most promising talents to the Ruhrstadion.

Bochum has been a popular choice for Iranian players keen to make a career in Germany as both Mehdi Mahdavikia and Vahid Hashemian have proven themselves at the Ruhr Valley outfit before earning moves to big guns Hamburg and Bayern Munich respectively.
