AFP - The Mexican National Team will play a
tune-up match against Ghana on March 1 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco.
The soccer match will begin at 8 p.m.
Both teams will compete in this summer?s 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The
Mexican National Team is making its sixth appearance in the Fort
Worth-Dallas Metroplex and its first since a 1-0 loss to the United States
at the Cotton Bowl in April 2004.
Tickets for this match will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 3 at 10
a.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling (888) FCD-GOAL or by visiting
www.fcdallas.net. Prices range from $50 to $200.
Mexico was selected as the seeded team in the World Cup?s Group D and will
play Angola, Iran and Portugal, while Ghana, making its first trip to the
World Cup, will play the Czech Republic, Italy and the United States in
Group E.
Mexico plays Norway at San Francisco?s Monster Park on Wednesday and Korea
Republic on Feb. 15 at the Los Angeles Coliseum before coming to Frisco as
part of the Coca-Cola presents Mexican Soccer Tour.
After its match against Ghana, Mexico plays Paraguay at Soldier Field in
Chicago on March 29 and an undetermined opponent at the Rose Bowl in
Pasadena, Calif., on May 12.
