Jadransport - After a six month unsuccessful
run with the Swiss outfit NE Xamax, the Croatian coach Miroslav Blazevic is
most likely going back home. The man who led Croatia to the bronze medal at
the 1998 World Cup, is reported to be in talks with NK Zagreb. By the press
sources in Zagreb, the man who will lead the negotiations with the former
Hajduk Split coach is the Croatian capital city major Milan Bandic.
Contract to be discussed next week
The City hall officials confirmed that Bandic and NK Zagreb chairman Drazen
Medic will speak with Blazevic during the upcoming week, after what the
“Pjesnici” hope that the deal will be sealed. The 2005/06 season can be
described as one of the worse season's for the side from Kranjceviceva, as
they finished 9th out of 12 clubs in the league. They suffered even 16
defeats out of 32 league games.
Blazevic failed to keep Xamax in Super League
Upon accepting to lead Xamax last winter, Blazevic was hended with the
difficult task to help them stay in the Swiss Super League. Although he
managed to get enough points to just be above the knock out part of the
table, better goal difference preserved Schaffhausen in the top flight while
Xamax finished ninth. That's one spot bellow the relegation line.
