IRIB - Vice President Mohammad Aliabadi called
Wednesday on the German ambassador to Tehran to issue visas to the remaining
Iranian world cup fans.
"We ask you to make necessary arrangements to solve the problem of those
fans who have not yet succeeded to receive their entry visa and enable them
to travel to Germany," Aliabadi said in a meeting with ambassador Paul
Freiherr Von Maltzahn in Tehran.
Some 900 Iranians have applied for visas to travel to Germany but 20 per
cent of them were denied because they had no tickets for Iran's first round
games.
Aliabadi also hoped that Iran's slogan in the world cup - "peace for all
based on justice and spirituality" - would be appropriately reflected in the
German press.
He said Iranians carefully follow German football because there are Iranian
players in the Bundesliga.
