MNA – Iran’s sports boss Mohammad Aliabadi here Sunday said the country’s football requires an able chief.

Vice-president and head of Physical Education Organization (PEO) added the future president of Football Federation is expected to use all potentials and help the popular sporting field make considerable progress.

He urged the federation caretaker head Kiumars Hashemi to make arrangements by next week for registration of those candidates, who find themselves fit for managing the federation.

The top sporting body, PEO, ousted the federation president Mohammad Daadkan immediately after Iran-Angola match at the 2006 World Cup in the German city of Leipzig on June 21.

The decision was made following Iran’s lackluster performance and weak results in the tournament.

Iran finished fourth with meager one point out of three games with Mexico, Portugal, and Angola.
