IRNA - Bottom-placed Rah
Ahan handed high-flight Persepolis a 2-1 defeat in the 14th week of the
sixth Iran Pro League here Friday.
Ahmad Jamshidi took the lead for Rah Ahan after seven minutes, but his
opener was canceled out by Ehsan Khorsandi whose kick took a vicious
deflection off defender, finding the net on 43 minutes.
Persepolis made scores of attacks on Rah Ahan woodwork and hit the
crossbar, but Rah Ahan got the last laugh through Hadi Asghari who
capitalized on Pejman Nouri's blunder, beating keeper Farshid Karimi
nine minutes from time.
New Rah Ahan manager Akbar Misaqian had earlier vowed that his side
would beat the Reds in Azadi Stadium.
