Hamburg beats Iran at UAE tourney

MNA – Hamburg overcame Iran 2-1 at a four-sided football tournament in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Monday.

Striker Paolo Guererro headed home after 30 minutes to take the lead for the Bundesliga-bound Hamburg.

The Iranian side was denied by the crossbar twice in the 62nd and 63rd minutes through strikers Rassul Khatibi and Javad Kazemian.

Khatibi, however, celebrated the equalizer on 65 minutes, heading home a perfect free-kick from midfielder Iman Mob’ali.

Hamburg canceled out Khatibi’s opener six minutes later when Besart Berisha netted from close range.

According to the schedule, Iran takes on Stuttgart Wednesday.
