Sportinglife - Ashkan Dejagah has signed a three-year contract with Wolfsburg and will move to the Volkswagen Arena at the end of the season when his current deal with Hertha Berlin expires.

"I am looking forward to this new sporting challenge and am convinced that I can develop as a player in Wolfsburg," he said.

His decision to leave Berlin has evoked an angry reaction from his current employers and the 20-year-old is unlikely to play another game for them this season.

Berlin general manager Dieter Hoeness accused Wolfsburg of unsettling Dejagah, who had been at Hertha for seven years, and questioned the player's motives for moving.

"The contribution Hertha have made to German football is certainly bigger than that of Wolfsburg," said Hoeness.

"This transfer is purely about money."

Dejagah is a product of the Berlin youth system and made his first Bundesliga appearance against Bochum on the opening day of last season.
