PTV – Germany's soccer federation calls up the Iranian-born Ashkan Dejagah, who refused to play Israel, for the upcoming qualifying matches.

The federation said Friday Dejagah is to play in the upcoming fixtures against Iceland and Luxembourg in November.

The VFL Wolfsburg midfielder had announced on October 8th that he would not accompany Germany's under-21 national soccer team to Tel Aviv, due to his respect for his homeland.

"I have more Iranian than German blood in my veins," the 20-year-old player said.

Dejagah's decision sparked an outcry in Germany, where the Jewish communities demanded his withdrawal from the German squad.

However, the German federation and Dejagah's coach at Wolfsburg club, Felix Magath, accepted his 'personal reasons'.
