Iran's Nekounam wins new Osasuna deal

PTV – Iran's football player of the year and Osasuna midfielder Javad Nekounam is given a contract extension until 2011 by the Spanish club.

The 27-year-old has not yet fully recovered from a preseason knee injury. He has been out of the court for six months after undergoing surgery in Germany.

Osasuna inked the new three-year contract with the Iranian international due to his strong performances and commitment to the club.

Before the injury, the Iranian ace played 24 times and netted twice for the Spanish team, helping Osasuna to advance to UEFA Cup semifinal.
