Damascus, July 20, IRNA -- Iran defeated the Yemeni side Friday in a qualifying match of the 23rd Asian Youth Soccer Championships.
In the first derby of Group A, the Iranian side fought back to win 4-3 the clash played in the 30,000-seater stadium of Aleppo, Syria.
In the 33rd and 43rd minutes, Yemen netted two times and Sivash Akbarpour of Iran scored in the 24th minute.
Yemen made it 3-1 in early second half that was responded by Mehrzad Ma'danchi in the 67th minute, Akbarpour in the 72nd minute and Sheis Rezaei in the 88th minute from the penalty spot.
In the finals of the 22nd Asian event, Iran lost to Yemen.
