FNA - An autographed T-shirt
bestowed to the Iranian nation by Legendary Argentinean soccer player Diego
Maradona was presented to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Thursday.
The No. 10 T-shit of Argentina's National Football team was delivered to
Ahmadinejad during a meeting between the Iranian president and the country's
diplomatic corps in Latin America.
Maradona has bestowed the autographed T-shirt to the Iranian nation as a
sign of his affection for Iran in an earlier meeting late December with
Iranian Ambassador to Buenos Aires Mohsen Baharavand.
The T-shirt reads: "With all my affection to Iranian people".
"I am with the Iranian people, from the bottom of my heart, I support them.
I say it because I feel it, because I mean it," Maradona said during the
meeting.
Maradona also said he supports the Iranian government and wants to meet
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
"I have already met [Cuban President] Fidel [Castro], [Venezuelan President
Hugo] Chavez, now I just want to meet your president, Ahmadinejad", Maradona
told the ambassador.
Baharavand said the autographed t-shirt will be sent to Museum of Presents
of Foreign Affairs Ministry to be showcased publicly.
