Nekounam recovers from injury

PTV - Osasuna's Iranian midfielder, Javad Nekounam, has commenced team training after his seven-month recovery from a right knee injury.

Javad Nekounam finished his light individual training at the end of February and got back to Osasuna team training on Thursday, Osasuna's sports physician said.

The Iranian national player ruptured his right knee ligament in a pre-season friendly match against Villareal in August and underwent surgery in Germany to repair the damage.

The Iranian ace played 24 times and netted twice for the Spanish team, helping Osasuna to advance to UEFA Cup semifinal.

The 27-year-old Nekounam was also chosen as Iran's best player of the year and was awarded the “Golden Ball” by Iranian Football Officials last year.
