Esteqlal to face Foulad Khuzestan

PTV - Tehran's popular soccer team Esteqlal is slated to play against Foulad Khuzestan FC in the semifinal of the Iranian Hazfi Cup.

According to the Iranian Football Federation, the match will be held in the Takhti Stadium in Ahvaz on May 29.

In another semifinal match, Sepahan Isfahan will compete with Pegah Gilan FC in the city of Rasht on May 27.

Amir Qalenoei has recently been appointed as Esteqlal's new coach, two years after he left the club to coach Iran's national football team.

The 44-year-old Qalenoei led Esteqlal to championship in Iran's Premier League in 2006.
