IRNA - Iran's national soccer team will play a friendly game against Spain's Galicia soccer club on December 24.

Iran was scheduled to fly to Frankfurt on Sunday morning (December 21) and then fly to Bilbao in the afternoon.

The Iranian team's friendly game against a selected team from Basque squad has been cancelled by the Basque Football Federation (FVF).

The FVF on Friday night sent a letter to Iran's Football Federation to announce the suspension of the match.

Placed in the 43rd position in the FIFA ranking, Iran soccer team has played a number of friendly games in preparation for
the 2010 World Cup.

Iran is scheduled to play against South Korea in Group B of the Asian qualifying games on February 11.

Iran is competing against Saudi Arabia, North Korea, the UAE and South Korea in Group B.
