However, their build-up has been overshadowed by reports of infighting in the camp between coach Nelo Vingada and players Karim Bagheri, Alireza Nikbakht Vahedi and Ibrahim Toure.
While the players have been banned from talking to the media, Vingada was keen to play down any talk of a rift.
"Piroozi needs calm, especially in the ACL so it's better to focus only on these games," he said.
Playmaker Ali Karimi is expected to be fit after missing the last fortnight but Serbian Ivan Petrovic is an injury doubt.
Midfielder Mehdi Rajabzadeh is also in contention for a place after receiving clearance from the AFC to play following his signing last week.
Vingada can also call on the services of Iran international striker Mohsen Khalili who returned to first-team action last week after an eight-month injury lay-off.
Sharjah coach Antonio Oliveira, however, is still looking to come away from Tehran with something despite losing star striker Anderson Barbosa to injury.
The UAE side open their Group B campaign against Piroozi at the Azadi Stadium having come through a play-off against Dempo 3-0.
Striker Anderson will miss the game after injuring his hamstring in the second-half of the 2-1 UAE League win over Ajman on Friday, while fellow Brazilian midfielder Roberto Lopes is a doubt having picked up a slight knock in the same game.
Anderson's absence will be keenly felt as the forward has netted 11 goals this term - the second-highest in the UAE League - although Oliveira did concede the AFC Champions League is not his primary focus this season.
“To be honest, my main target is to help the team in the local league but this doesn’t mean that our trip to Iran will be for tourism and we will try our best to get a good result,” said Oliveria.
“We are now fighting hard on the local front and playing in the AFC Champions League needs a lot of concentration.
“We have some injuries, our striker Anderson Barbosa will miss the game while there are some doubts about the availability of Roberto Lopes.”
