According to the sport's governing body rankings released on Wednesday, the Iranian outfit plunged from the 58th to the 61st place with 534 points, but remained fourth in Asia.
Brazil retained the top spot, ahead of Spain and the Netherlands, while Germany moved above Italy into fourth place.
The top ten is rounded out by Russia, England, Argentina, France and Croatia, who were all unmoved.
