“They are not helping the national team. In my opinion, they are weakening the team with their criticism. I want the Iranian media to be honest. Sometimes I see some false interviews attributed to me,” Ghotbi said.
“I am responsible for the national team and will just talk about them. We have lost many star players during recent years and I need time to rebuild a powerful team,” he added.
“Unfortunately after defeat against Jordan our team came under pressure, whereas it was just a misfortune. These kinds of incidents must not be repeated. Iran is going to get good results in the 2011 Asian Cup qualifiers,” Iran football coach stated.
“I believe in my players and without doubt this defeat is not a good reason for the media to criticize the team,” Ghotbi concluded.
