Speaking at the Iran Football Federation he said, “Good teams such as North Korea and Mali will participate in the Qatar tourney and it is a good opportunity for us to play against them. However, we will not go to the event with the aim of winning the tournament,”
“Iran football team wants to win the 2011 Asian Cup. We have to think about the future. Iran will likely lose to its rivals sometimes, but we aim at winning the Asian Cup title,” he added.
Iran will take part in the Qatar football tournament along with the host, Mali and North Korea from December 27 to January 2 in Doha.
