Iran, which is gearing up for the AFC 2011 Asian Cup in Qatar, has been invited by Canadian football officials to that country to play a friendly match against their national team. However, the event has yet to be announced on their soccer association’s website.
If the Iranian team travels to Canada, it is also expected to play MLS ALL-Stars on September 7.
If the match against Canada is not held, Iran will play the Asian powerhouse South Korea on September 7.
