channelnews - South Korea coach Park Hang-seo has been fired following his team's loss to Iran in the Busan Asian Games semi-finals this month.

Park was the assistant to Dutchman Guus Hiddink, who guided South Korea to fourth place in the World Cup this year.

After the World Cup, Hiddink returned to his homeland to coach PSV Eindhoven but has signed a contract with the Korea Football Association (KFA), to serve as a technical adviser to the national team for two years.

Lee Sang-ho, a KFA director, said Hiddink would not take up his old role.
