IRNA - Striker Ali Samereh Friday scored the fastest goal in the history of Esteqlal-Persepolis matches.
Before over 60,000 spectators in Yadegar-e Imam Stadium of Tabriz, East Azarbaijan province, Esteqlal forward Samereh stole the ball following a blunder from Persepolis full-back Yahya Golmohammadi, slotting home in the first minute.
The big derby ended in a 1-1 draw as Ali Ansarian playing on the right flank of Persepolis scored the equalizer from the spot kick in the 70th minute.
Earlier Hossein Kalani, a veteran Persepolis player, was the fastest scorer. On January 17, 1971, Kalani put Persepolis ahead in the second minute when he found the back of Esteqlal's net. The match dated back to 32 years ago also ended 1-1 as Abbas Mojdehi of Esteqlal fired home in the 75th minute
